Vision canopy by aerodyne

Recommended Posts

I tried two Visions. The first one had a problem; we sent it back to Aerodyne. I put four jumps on its replacement, a 132 Vision. It was a nice canopy. Not as ground-hungry as, say, the Katana, but still a reasonably long recovery arc and a good flare. Fairly soft and consistent openings. Only gripe I had about it was that it was very "diablo-like" in its openings. It would open and tend to turn in one direction or the other (after opening was complete) and the turn would accelerate until you countered it. For that reason I wouldn't want it on a jump where it was pretty busy after opening (as on a big-way or when doing AFF.)

I have put over 100 jumps on a Vision 132 and have not had the problems that Bill is talking about. It is a very good beginner Eliptical. I remember he put a few jumps on one and we sent it back for something. It came back and there have been no problems with it.

I have not had any problems with it opening hard or starting into turns or dives on opening. I have found it to be a very steady canopy. In fact I have had to really lean in the harness to get it turning with just my body. It will go but I really have to lean into it.

It does have a short recovery arch which I think is good for someone just getting into eliptical's. It gives you a chance to recover from a mistake that you may not be able to recover from on a more aggressive
canopy (Stiletto, Nitron, Crossfire).

Great landings without a lot of steppin it out at the end.
