Trash at exit points.

Come on people!!!have a bit of respect for the environment we jump in.
It's really annoying to find pet bottles and various garbage at exit points.

This very Sunday, we made a jump from the mushroom in switzerland and
I was really disheartened to find some freaking tourist pamflet left
right on top of the mushroom! For some reasons I don't believe it was left
behind by some japanese tourists…>:(

I am getting really tired of jumping with my pockets full of garbage. Your ass is
as good as mine to jump with your garbage!! If you suck so much at tracking that
you think you will be affected by your trash in your pockets then don't bring it with you. Don't make someone else do it for you!!!!

Same problem at Y.O in the swiss valley. Some garbage was hidden in a hole
right next to the exit and some is still there cause I could not jump with all of it!!!! >:(

Come on, I am not trying to be mister super righteous here, but please have a bit of
respect. It's not hard to do. Just think a little before you start walking to the exit point with three cans of energy drink, your lunch box and your sight seeing pamflets and your roll of duct tape…

Next time I will snap a pic of whatever I bring down to illustrate my point a little…[:/]

Interesting.

When I got busted in the Valley here, I was handcuffed in the meadow and a park ranger was searching through my pockets. He puuled out two crumpled up water bottles.

Looking up at me he asked, "What are these for?"

"Water" I answered.

"Why do you have them?" he asked.

"Because I didn't want to litter"

He thought a moment and said "Well, thanks for not littering."

I just shook my head. "Yeah, no problem."

(There's more to that story but it has nothing to do with littering;))

So I agree. Litter in the backcountry, not just exit points, makes me sick. I think it's disgusting having to walk around with somebody elses trash in my pockets because they couldn't take a moment to see to it for themselves.

We noticed the same thing at the ITW this weekend, specifically with water bottles. One just left in plain sight and one 'hidden' behind a rock. It sucks and it's hugely disrespectful. :(

Al kindly brought them down.

Be aware that climbers sometimes leave water at the top of routes, because it's precious on the wall, and common once you reach the trailhead.

I'm not commenting on the wilderness ethic of the practice--just pointing out that jumpers may not be the sole source in some of these cases.
