Get Mr. T to Bridge Day

Recommended Posts

Now that we have Nick's ticket just about covered, why don't we all chip in to bring another icon whom we'd all like to meet to Bridge Day. I vote for Mr. T. Being that Mr. T is a celebrety we should fly him in first class and I hereby pledge $500 of Skinflicka's money. Can someone steal his credit card for me?

Mr. T ? ....... that would be Sooooooo Wrong. !
To be honest here I am not quite sure that, Mr. T would be Low Enough on the social ladder for you to actually expect him to attend.
I am Sure that the Loud, Belligerent, Bing-Bling wearing x-star of the - A Team or Rocky - Would Not
Fit-In and blend with the usual White Trash - Freak show that actually Hangs on that bridge.
No Way You can expect him to stand next to the Snake Charmer -Bible thumper Billy-Bob tooth vendor.
Or that guy running around in the Roach suit and the rest of those local-Yocals on Bridge Day.
It would defiantly be a Humiliating experience for him and possibly damaging to his career......:S

Ray, you are a wise man, but I think you got him all wrong. Sure, Mr. T may wear a lot of jewelry and have a seemingly "bad" attitude. But, the positives far outweigh the negatives. He is a caring sensitive man who is a friend to children everywhere and loves his mother. He speaks his mind with intelligence and a unique sense of humor. I think if we told him the whole story about the NPS, he'd have a thing or two to say to them.

He is a man of the people and I think he will be right at home with all the fine West Virginia citizens on the bridge, many of whom raise their children on A-Team re-runs.

As far as him being humiliated by hanging with us... he is a humble man, and humble men cannot be humiliated by mingling with the common folk.

Furthermore, we are spending Skinflicka's money, so if it's a big bust, no one loses, right?

And since he hates getting in airplanes, BASE should be right up his street...

This is funny in a six degrees of separation sort of way.

I did some rigging for a parachuting segment of the "A Team" on location outside Los Angeles. In between takes I played poker with Mr. T and the blond fellow whose name I don't recall who played the character "Face".

Mr. T, I heard someone call him Larry, is gaining in popularity. After I clipped him for a thirty dollar poker pot he jumped up and yelled, "Fool! You cheated me!" He was kidding, but all the other actors seemed to turn it on and off, while Mr. T seemed "on" all the time.

We've had celebrities at Bridge Day before. Didn't Bob Denver (Gilligan) show up one year?

I think I remember that episode (sad, I know)

They had some stock footage of a plane flying, a close up of the fuselage showing the open door and A-team jumping out one by one (plane obviously on the ground but with blue sky behind, rigs looked pretty dodgy). Then more stock footage of rounds in the air. Followed by close ups of the team "hanging" in the harness :)
In fact I think I found the episode...

One More Time

Airdate: Apr. 12, 1983

As the episode begins, Lynch's wish finally comes true when he captures Hannibal, Face, and B.A.  However, Lynch's pleasure is short lived for a Major Briggs and a Mr. Perry of the State Department take custody of the team.  Perry then offers the team their freedom (although they will still be fugitives) if they rescue General Ludlam and his daughter Kathy from Borneo and a fanatical leader named RaShaad.  Unwilling to face prison, the team reluctantly agrees.  Meanwhile, Amy, concerned about the team's welfare, has contacted Murdock for help.  Murdock and Amy sneak onto the military base and witness the team leaving in a plane.  Concerned, Murdock borrows a plane and follows the team.  Then, when Hannibal, Face and B.A. parachute into Borneo, Murdock and Amy follow suit.  Unfortunately, the team's rescue does not go according to plan and Hannibal, Face, and B.A. are captured and  imprisoned with the General and Kathy.  Face is then led away to be executed.  Plotting their escape, Hannibal uses his ingenuity and starts a leak in RaShaad's ammo dump.  With a little assistance from Face's last request (a cigarette), the ammo dump explodes allowing the team to escape.  Murdock and Amy join the team and everyone escapes in one of RaShaad's helicopters.  Once back in the United States, Perry is as good as his word and the team find themselves (still wanted but) free.
