Tornolf 0 #1 October 5, 2005 I'm currently training in gymnastics and my instructors are trying to find others who have coached BASE jumpers so that we have more of a base to go off of. I've already spoken with Dwain and Slim's old coach who has been a massive help, but I've been unable to locate anyone else. So if anyone has done any training or knows of anyone, any help would be appreciated. brits17 0 #2 October 5, 2005 I'd venture to guess there's not many out there. Really, the endeavor of artistic BASE jumping is still in its early stages/years so there's not many gym coaches running across BASE jumpers left and right. When I went back to some old coaches and gyms, they were very surprised to hear a request for BASE specific training. Its newer to them than it is to us. The main thing that you should probably relay to your coach is figuring out technique to stop the aerial maneuver belly to earth. This is probably best practiced on the trampoline. The pit can be used for learning the actual maneuver. Houston Gymnastics Academy is where I know some old coaches and Ted and I hooked up with a new one. Hope this helps. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

One of them is working in Russia -- he has a big coaching experience in gymnastic (Olympic games etc.) and skydiving experience (accuracy & style competitions of ancient time). He offers "BASE specific trampoline & gymnastics" I've heard about another one who's working in Hungary. He's also "old schooler" who's teaching hungarian base crew.
