Tailgate 0 #1 February 12, 2004 I have a Tony suit. Where the Nylon and spandex meet in the butt area it is beginning to separate. Any ideas on the best way to patch this or at least stop the hole from getting larger? Thanks in advance _________________________________________________ Let me live in my house by the side of the road and be a friend to man- Sam Walter Foss
SkymonkeyONE 4 #2 February 12, 2004 turn the suit inside out and re-sew the seam. If it's a surged seam, then you may need to take it to your local alteration shop to make it come out pretty, but generally that's something you can repair with a light duty machine. Tailgate 0 #3 February 12, 2004 Thanks, should I use regular thread or an elastic thread? BTW nice helmet in the avatar. Did you do the paint yourself? flyangel2 2 #5 February 12, 2004 Chuck has the right advise, but be sure to show the shop another seam, so they can see what you want done and how. If the nylon is starting to fray, and you don't want to lose the little bit of room that you have there on the seam in order to keep the nylon from continuing to fray, there is a liquid that you can apply to the nylon to stop it from fraying more. You'll find this at most hobby stores.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. SkymonkeyONE 4 #6 February 12, 2004 Likewise, if the spandex is frayed and it has been stretched out from use, this would be a good opportunity to take it in a bit and redo the entire seam. Very, very simple stuff here.
Tailgate 0 #7 February 12, 2004 Thanks for all the advice. I will let you know if it works or if I end up showing more than my PLF on the DZ _________________________________________________ Let me live in my house by the side of the road and be a friend to man- Sam Walter Foss
