Risk evaluation - legal aspect

Recommended Posts

Before any jump, risk evaluation is mandatory (or should be...):
a) directly related to the jump (also for people jumping with you)
b) in some cases, consequences of doing something potentially illegal

For this 2nd point, the risk can be hard to evaluate (which doesn't mean it's easy for the 1st one...). What about the extra risk for a foreigner jumping in the US? Or other countries? I wonder what could happened. Could one get kicked out of the country? Is there a record of it? Could it make it harder to get a visa for example?

And when I mean illegal, I mean trespassing, not vandalism to get to the exit point at any cost. Just trespassing, without any evidence left after the jump, and no risks for anybody around. And not in national parks, considered as criminal...

Of course, a good way to reduce this risk is to contact locals and get some advice (and avoid burning the object). Also a matter of respect and ethic.

Any thoughts?

These legal issues might not be openly discussed in this forum, I don't know... If not, Tom, I apologize for the extra work.

Safe jumps :)Damien
