theskydiveguy 0 #1 February 4, 2004 Hey, I have a windblade and no pole, can anyone suggest a good (cheap) alternative? Thanks ~Jeff Monkey Brother #1 http://www.monkeybrothers.ca
AggieDave 6 #2 February 4, 2004 PVC, go to Home depot and get 1"-1 1/2" PVC, I'm not real sure how forgiving it'd be if someone hit it, though, but I'm sure it would work like a champ (and its cheap).--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." jmfreefly 0 #4 February 4, 2004 Another option is a Crappie fishing rod. They are flexible and come in various sizes 6-20 foot and collapsible. I think I bought mine for like 12 bucks. I think many windblade mfgs use crappie rods j

QuoteThe Black Widow Telescopic Rod These Telescopic Rods are good and durable rods and great for trolling, these rods are on the best seller list of B-n-M. 20 foot 6section $26.99 I've built about 15 Windblades and these are what are used, both on mine and the "Pro Built" ones. you can find em' here http://www.northamericancrappie.com/bnm_poles1.htm---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. On a really windy day PVC can snap and/or shatter if it flexes too much. I second the BlackWidow pole, we had really good results with them at my last DZ, plus, it lends itself to fitting the arch at the top of the blade.Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
 SkymonkeyONE 4 #9 February 4, 2004 Every Walmart I have ever been in has black widow poles. There are also male/female threaded fittings that you can glue onto the end of of the sections so they can be disassembled for storage and transport. As far as the wind breaking the poles, that could be a good thing depending on the amount of wind it take to break it. If the windblade poles are breaking as your walking to the plane don't go there. Estimated cost plus spare parts $5-$10 depending on the idiot factor. R.I.P.
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
