Niklasp 0 #1 April 12, 2005 so what wideangle do you use for base freefall. 0.6 - 0.5- 0.4ish- 0.3? curious of what u find best? Thanks Razz and Ulla
pope 0 #2 April 12, 2005 I don't mean this to sound smartass, but it depends on how close you'll be to your subject. I'd bet you'll get better video with NO WIDE ANGLE LENS at all. Besides, the more glass the lower the picture quality... pope
base736 0 #3 April 12, 2005 I'm curious whether anybody can share some video done without a wide angle, or with something higher than a 0.3... I've always used a 0.3 myself, and while my experience has been that that gives an image which I would say is nearly "what I saw", I've toyed with the idea of just zooming out, no adapter lens -- particularly if I were planning to shoot something specific (another canopy, stuff on the ground, whatever...). Anyway, if anybody's got video to share...
aidclimber 0 #4 April 12, 2005 i jump with a .45 for base and skydiving works pretty good i would like something a little wider like .30...a couple guys have a .30 and .25 from waycool...i like the .25 for backwords mounted cameras gets cool vid of the object you just jumped off or for hand cams... i take off the wide angle for shooting from the ground and just use the zoom Cya Sky
Lee846 0 #5 April 13, 2005 I also use .45 for freefall video. Still don't care about it because the technique of camera flying is more interesting for me on this stage. I mean -- i'm trying to find the best exit position/style/distance... Then it will be perfect -- i'll look for things which should be changed on my video gear to make the shots better.Just a newbie opinion. Between two evils always pick theone never tried
Niklasp 0 #6 April 13, 2005 I guess its all about skill. I mean the less wider lens, the most ”true” picture (not disturbed by a wide angel) - If you know what I mean. A less wide lens requires more ”aiming” compared to a wider lens. Thank you for your opinion :)
