Since when is speed skiing the world's fastest non-motorized sport? And do they really go faster than a belly-flying skydiver? (Doesn't sound impossible, but that's pretty fast.)

The short answer is .......YES. They can go faster than a belly flyer!

I think skydivers are DQ'd because of the mechanical means by which they gain their altitude. Neither are very fun to watch, but the skier has a better crash entertainment value.

Speed skiers have some mighty big ones boys. The groundrush those guys must get is likely like a fast sport bike, but no bike, flying down the mountain. Tell me that's not pretty cool. Of course we jump instead. But as a skier, I think speed skiers are pretty cool.
