base428 1 #1 January 28, 2005 Who has the rights to Will's tapes? There is a lot of history there that should be preserved. I'm also looking for the appropriate person to contact regarding use of a Bridge Day 1999 jump that Will filmed. Any information would be most helpful. Thanks. RIP Will.(c)2010 Vertical Visions. chuckbrown 0 #2 January 28, 2005 I'm assuming he was filming for his own uses (private or commercial). The rights should be owned by his estate. If he didn't have an estate administered, you could probably get a transfer from the person entitled to inherit under applicable state law. If he had no descendants/family, in most states the property would go to the state. If you let me know where he was living when he died, I can take a quick look at who should be entitled to inherit his property.
RhondaLea 4 #3 January 28, 2005 Will's obituary (one of several), including the names and locations of his survivors. His father continues to administer forshay.org, so he is probably the person to contact . All the information, including snail mail and e-mail addresses and a telephone number is included here: http://www.samspade.org/t/ipwhois?a=www.forshay.org
TomAiello 26 #4 January 28, 2005 Johnny Utah told me he had permission to use Will's footage. I assume that means he knows who to contact to gain such permission. You might want to ask him. I definitely agree that Will's work needs to be preserved, for all BASE jumpers.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
