nicknitro71 0 #1 January 26, 2004 I want to let you know how fantastic Ankie and Sunrise Rigging customer service are. I sent them an e-mail because I had trouble tucking my freefly handle under the flap so I wanted a regular hackey instead. I was told that they now have a new handle and they were going to put it on for free. So I sent my PC got it back in less than a week (I don't know how they do it). It now tucks in right away. I got to jump it yesterday in 5 degree weather and it works perfectly. I also like the new feel better, despite the thick gloves. I now highly recommend the FF handle to anyoneMemento Audere Semper
AggieDave 6 #2 January 26, 2004 What is the new handle like? Could you post pics?--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
gus 1 #3 January 26, 2004 How is the new handle different to the old one? Gus (waiting for his Wings!)OutpatientsOnline.com
nicknitro71 0 #4 January 26, 2004 The part of the handle that tucks in is much thinner about 1/2 and it has a hard plastic reinforcement on the inside that gives it a more solid feel and structure as well. Let me take a pic and I'll post it. NickMemento Audere Semper
mr2mk1g 10 #5 January 26, 2004 Thanks - that will be good to see how it contrasts with the old one. Do you know how new is "new"? My rig is only about 6 months old so are the pics I posted HERE the new one or the old one?
nicknitro71 0 #6 January 26, 2004 Ok boys. Here are some pics.Memento Audere Semper
nicknitro71 0 #7 January 26, 2004 You got the old one. The new style as you can see it does not have any overlapping fabric.Memento Audere Semper
mr2mk1g 10 #8 January 26, 2004 Ah, nice. Different design to do the same job then. I'm glad they didn't change the principal as I really like the idea of having the pud protect the boc. I guess this development must be in response to the odd problem they had with the old design in just the same manner as you described.

nicknitro71 0 #10 January 26, 2004 It's a W 8-1. I have a tempo 150 and a viper 105 in it. packing the tempo at first was a bitch. Now the container is a bit softer and the next reserve pack we might even have to shortnen the closing loop. Same for the main. Now it closes without much strength.Memento Audere Semper

freeflajankie 0 #13 January 27, 2004 Thanks We at sunrise are here to please our costumers and to make a great rig. The new freestyle handle is like Nick says, The change on the new handle is that it's flatter on the part that you tuck in under the bridle cover. And it has the stiffener across it. We put this new freestyle handle on all the new rigs now. (if costumer wants freestyle handle of course) Nick I'm sorry about you having to jump in such cold weather though Blue skiesSkydivers are a bunch of insensitive jerks... AggieDave 6 #15 January 27, 2004 Quotethat the handle falls out Really!? I've got a good number of jumps on my Wings (500+) and not once have I had that happen, and I have the "old" handle. I also check it before I get in the door, though.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
freeflajankie 0 #16 January 27, 2004 QuoteHeya, this was my one and only bitch about my rig is that the handle falls out. all the time...but just at bad reply] Please contact me tomorrow if you can. I can not see the old handle falling out. The new handle is thinner on the tucking in part, so if you are having trouble with the thicker one I don't see how the new one is going to help. But please contact me, and I'll see what we can do. Of course it is not supposed to come out. AnkieSkydivers are a bunch of insensitive jerks... And that's why I don't skydive anymore!
