rendezvous 0 #1 January 16, 2004 What are the pros and cons of jumping a container that has been modifed for wing suits. I believe the edges of the base are freed for wing suits so as to facillitate an angular extration of the bag. How would this modification impact non wing suit jumping. To me it seems if you can use it for wing suit then you can use it for non wing suit too.

diablopilot 2 #3 January 17, 2004 I done near near 300 wingsuit jumps and have never used a container with any modifications. That said, the moded containers are useable for wingsuit and non wigsuit jumps alike.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. LouDiamond 1 #4 January 17, 2004 Quote How would this modification impact non wing suit jumping. Having open or dynamic corners, a longer bridle and or packing the D bag grommet up will not effect normal skydiving in any way. Although I can't imagine why you would want to ever take your suit off your rig "It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING

Kris 0 #6 January 17, 2004 I've got the mods on my Mirage G3, along with the 9' bridle and I pack grommet to pin. I've had it that way for over 80 non BirdMan jumps and have never had a problem at all.Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™

ManBird 0 #9 January 17, 2004 Usually not. The ability to raise my arms above my head in freefall weirds me out. Even then, I try not to get in anything less than a track. That whole freedom of arm movement thing is overrated."¯"`-._.-¯) ManBird (¯-._.-´"¯" Click

Supergeil 0 #11 January 17, 2004 Kris how do you put your bag in the container? If I put it grommets to pin it's looking a bit preagnent, does grommets to reserve work as well? Supergeil
SkymonkeyONE 4 #12 January 17, 2004 Quote Kris how do you put your bag in the container? If I put it grommets to pin it's looking a bit preagnent, does grommets to reserve work as well? Supergeil In a rig with dynamic corners? I have been in the habit lately of packing my container with the grommet towards the BOC. If you are going to rotate your bag and NOT pack pin to grommet, then this makes the most sense. Grommet to bottom-of-reserve is how "normal" people pack. Supergeil 0 #13 January 17, 2004 Yes with cut corners! Okay the Pc bridel is in the bottom then? The way mirage recommend is the line stov in the bottom of the container..... Supergeil
Kris 0 #14 January 18, 2004 Quote Kris how do you put your bag in the container? If I put it grommets to pin it's looking a bit preagnent, does grommets to reserve work as well? My rig looks a little puffy anyway, since I have a Stiletto 190 in a Mirage designed to hold a 170 tight. Having said that however...it's really not that bad. I psycho-pack and I do the roll pretty wide and very tight so it still looks slim no matter how I rotate the bag. In my case, it's all in the pack job. I have never tried packing grommet to BOC so I can't comment on that.Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
diablopilot 2 #15 January 18, 2004 Quote The way mirage recommend is the line stov in the bottom of the container..... And there is your answer. There is a reason to pack it the way the manufacturer recomends.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. Supergeil 0 #16 January 18, 2004 Yep that's right but there is a lot of talking about the bag position as you can see! Just wanted to know what other people do.... Had a coupel of line twist's with the normal packing way. So here we are......
kimgriffin 0 #17 January 19, 2004 I jump my dynamic corners (Odyssey) on any time of jump - BirdMan, freefly, RW. The only difference is in which way I pack my D-dag. On NON-BirdMan jumps, I pack my D-bag either grommet up with it towards the reserve tray. I have done RW and freely jumps with my bag packed for a WS flight (grommet towards feet) but the openings have been fine.-Kimberly Griffin
