BASE813 0 #2 July 29, 2004 Hey dude! There I was sitting in my physio session trying to loosen up my ligaments and getting frustrated in the lack of movement and wastage I have with my leg, and I receive an SMS.......... after the session I look at the message and its Faber asking me to telephone GC. I get out and whilst waiting for my cab I ring Faber, he is now at the exit after sms'ing me at 180ft, we go through the procedure he needs and the location he is should anything go wrong.......... after all that he says "hold on, you wanna hear the jump" - yeah man why not! As clear as day on the cell phones I hear him sit on the exit, let out a deep breath and hear his count, fuck man I could even hear his push off! To hear the acceleration of the air put a smile on my face, I hear a "yeeeeehaa" in freefall then a "hard opening" - i hear some huffs and puffs and some straining, and after a reasonable canopy flight he tells me the huffs and puffs are him taking avoiding action!! heheheheh I get a cab home, and an hour or so later I get another call - Faber at the exit again! (this time its HIS phone bill!!!) I listen to another jump, much better this time as he says "hard on heading opening" after I again listen to the sweet sound of transition from the void to the air.............. Have to say Faber, thanks for the tandem jumps - was cool listening to a jump whislt I am laid up still pissed off knowing I aint gonna be jumping until sometime next year!! Thanks mate, you made me smile!
