TomAiello 26 #26 July 3, 2004 I've not got much experience with slider up McConkey's. But the times I've been able to compare, there was a noticeable difference in opening altitude between slider up and slider down. I'm not really willing to try to quantify it, though. Suffice to say that slider up openings are slower.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
Faber 0 #27 July 3, 2004 beeing the guy that always jumps slider off,i wonder why you would put on a slider(unless your on a nice big S)?I mean, when you jump whith the canopy out like that the opening cant be that hard,so why play whith onheading issues on that one?Just for the fun of it,or does the Mcconkey slam you that much?Just becours i dont think it looks like its an hard opening, and as you always will cover the same distance(unless you use a slider)while opening the canopy/make it fly.. just wonder... while talking sliders up while the canopy is out of the container,i would say that the TARD would be more likely on this(well the headding sucks on them anyway as i have seen),as you can make a delay.. My humble oppinion is that both Mcconkeys and TARDs dont need a slider,so its just for the fun of it? Stay safe Stefan Faber
Rauk 0 #28 July 3, 2004 Yeah, the most I have heard about the slider on the rollover is to make it real soft, but I haven't had rough openings from my slider down either.
TomAiello 26 #29 July 3, 2004 Originally, folks started using the slider to keep the canopy grouped together. The idea was to be able to do McConkey's in some wind, without having it blow around all over down there.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

TomAiello 26 #32 July 4, 2004 By TARDover, you mean the front flip TARD? Sure. Although I'd say that's more a TARD than a McConkey.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
Rauk 0 #33 July 4, 2004 Yeah, that would be it, I still haven't seen a proper TARD, but the openings I saw on the TARD flip looked pretty nice and on heading. Looks like a pretty good time.
