Faber 0 #1 June 19, 2004 Hey guys off the BASEboard I were invited to do a walk on a suspentionbrigede(spell?),and will have to do a catwalk on the weires on the Brigede(between pylons).however i dont feel confident by such altitudes so i wonder how prober gear should be to walk at such places.(like a sling or so,but must have room to wear a bag as i will eat lunch at the top). I once saw at discovery that guys working on such places has such gear and i know that i "might"get some as we should do the walk, however i would feel much safer if i got my own.. any know were to get such from? and any good advises so i dont slip feel free to mail or pm me Stay safe Stefan Faber
TowerTopper 0 #2 June 19, 2004 I buy safety gear from Elk River, www.elkriver.com and from Safewaze, www.safewaze.com. You will need a full body harness with a "D" ring on the back and a set of double 6' shock absorbing lanyards with ladder hooks for 100% tie off. If it's on somebody's job site they will also want you to wear a hard hat also, I use my Petzl helmet for that, they are ANSI approved, it's an OSHA thing you know. Some good ones made by Petzl are here.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
 Faber 0 #5 June 19, 2004 cool one cheers guys,i will bring my video helmet perhaps that is ok by "them" Stay safe Stefan Faber
 0
