Practice exits in to a pool

Recommended Posts

I'm off to the pool tonight to practice my exits (which haven't been all that great recently :$). Any advice on what I should be doing or looking for?

Thanks,

Gus

Extend the arms and legs into a big "X and be sure to land completely flat. Keep your eyes and mouth wide open. I highly suggest not wearing clothing and cupping the belly for a nice audible "PWOP" sound when entering the water.

Hope that helps.

That's enormously helpful, thanks! I assume you're talking about using the 10m board for full "PWOP" effect?

I would use either the 1 or the 3 metre tops!

However NeilQ's post is probably a bit more informative.

For anyone that doubted it I can confirm that you do indeed look very silly repeatedly belly flopping in to a pool :$. Credit to the pool attendant though, who came over and said "Are you practicing to jump out of a plane?". Not bad for a whuffo.
Without a doubt the highlight of the evening was when my mentor told the pool attendant that this was special training for 'special' people. LOL!

It was definately worthwhile, getting used to the feeling of pushing off too early, too late and that nice slap round the balls when you get it just right.

not sure you wanted to use the word "nice" Mr S+M:S
however I volunteer myself to kick you square in the happy sacs on landing when we jump next ;)

Hope CP wasn't wearing those obscene trunks
