People are already starting to burn theire fire works and you can hear explotions all over as i drive towards the A. I drive by the A to be sure no one is arround.quickly i gear up and start the climb.I see racets each minute, exploding whith great collur. As i get up to a basket at 200ft i see a bus park just 75m from the A im climbing.so i deside to have a rest here as i know theres loads of radiation on the top.In that time i get the time to have a great look at the city i live in.Buckets of collors seems to be made just in that high as the rockets explod and the sound is GREAT way cool.well i tekst my gf that ill be late becours of the bus,but i really enjoy theese 15 mins until he drives away, and i can start my climb again. on the top i undress(gear)and quickly make a gear check.i then use some minutes to "eat the weiv",then i gear up,call my gf... i cant resist.. i tell her how beautiful it all it up here before i say bye.. im back on my own. great weivs.i put on my helmet, fold my 42´pc as im used to.deep breath.. okay here we go.climb over the fence,to a nice sitting exit. 3 2 1 C YA "BOOOM" and a great bucket of purpel lights up the exit as i just leap off.. just think wow, this is great, theres the ground, better do somthing.Let go of the PC and BAM nice onheadding, toogles free, make a 150degree turn get ready to flare, nice standing landing under the weires whith a low be to my right, and a wall to my left.. Quickly i get my gear up,runs to the car, opens it get the gear in.hurry i drive away while i call my gf and tells her im ok,after my last jump of the year 2003. I wish all of you a great safe new year. i hope to hook up whith as many of you as i can in the year to come. "what could posibly go wrong?" Myself and two work buddies decided to do a New Year's jump at our favorite local Pet Rock. We arrived at about 11:30 p.m. to winds blowing a gale...no jumping in that! We open some brews and light up.... 20 mintues later B held up his hands....."look, no wind! Let's go!" M says "I've had too many beers...I'm not fit to jump." K says "I've not done a night jump before, combined with smoking...well, I'm not fit to jump either." So up goes B all by himself. Right at midnight the guns started blasting! We could hear everything from 22 plinkers to SKS's just pounding out the rounds. Where do you suppose the damn guns were pointing? You got it, right at the Rock. M and I ran for cover and dove behind a pile of boulders. I was absolutely crapping myself because it sounded like WWIII and I was a sitting duck. The rednecks kept on firing for 20 minutes, and as the shots began to die down I could actually hear individual rounds being fired. I'd hear a ricochet and flinch, and M told me "you won't hear the one that gets you". Great, that made me feel better! After the noise died down enough we started hollering up the Rock to B...who was eerily silent for a few moments...we thought maybe he took a round on the hike up, but finally he called down to us that he was fine, just laying low until it cooled down. B finally got off at about 12:30, happy as can be. This was the first time I was afraid for my life on a BASE jump when the jump wasn't the problem. I thought for sure I was going home with holes other than the ones the Goddess gave me... When I met B and M at work again I was highly amused to hear the Pet Rock being called Rockghanistan.... HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL US FREAKS! Peace, K#
 0
