stevess 0 #1 September 14, 2003 Who jumped the new Hotel in Dubai on 1st September 2003????? I live in Dubai. I was busted for BASE jumping here 3 years ago. I haven’t jumped here since. I have a Police record. This is a police state. That means they can make up the rules as they go along. You have no rights here! On September 2nd, at 9:00 AM I was woken up in my home and escorted to the Dubai police station and questioned for a long time. After verifying my alibi I was let go. I’m not pissed off, I’m just curious …..Who are you? Where are you from? How did the jump go? There was some serecurity camera footage of you picking up your gear with blood on your face. What happened? Are you OK? Please talk to me! Steve.
andy2 0 #2 September 14, 2003 I dont think anyone is going to reply admitting they jumped! It seems people are usually reserved admitting to jump low profile stuff, let alone something that the police are currently investigating. But thats just my take on the situation! --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
TomAiello 26 #3 September 14, 2003 If you PM (or email) me, I can put you in touch with Steve, as anonymously (or not) as you both prefer. Sorry to hear about that, Steve. Looks like calling the locals really would have helped in this situation.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
Faber 0 #4 September 14, 2003 QuoteAfter verifying my alibi I was let go. wow lucky you As Tom says it would might be a good thing to contact the locals before temthing such a jump. I could get in trouble here aswell if people start jumping the wrong stuff Stay safe Stefan Faber
fasterfaller 0 #5 September 15, 2003 That sucks major ass to get the blame for someone elses jump . THat is why it is so important to not be detected . Over 200 of my 700 were not quite legal and I have got away every time but there were a few close calls .
