ccowden 0 #1 September 12, 2003 Hard to believe that it has been a year since we lost our brother, Rob Tompkins. He was and still is so very special to me and many others and his memory lives on thru all who knew him and were lucky enough to have him as part of their lives. I am so glad that he found so much happiness in BASE jumping and got to meet so many great people thru the sport. Fly forever free, my brother! We miss you! Please take a moment today to stop and reflect on what a wonderful person Rob was. Smile when you think of him and try not to be sad- Rob would want it that way. Shotgun 1 #2 September 12, 2003 I've been thinking about Rob a lot for the last couple of days. I'm trying really hard to not be sad, but it's not working very well. He's not the sort of person you meet every day. I only knew him for a short while, yet it still feels like I lost a brother. I guess that's the kind of person Rob was though - everybody's brother. Ok, I'll work on smiling now - you're right, Rob would definitely want it that way. Blue Skies, Keely
hookitt 1 #3 September 12, 2003 Rob and I were juggling and doing hand stands together the last time I saw him. (he was much much better at it ) Every time we dropped a ball, we had to do a hand stand. It was great motivation to not screw up. He was an incredible man. If ever there was a positive life force, Rob was it. Peace Rob! We'll smile back at you. TimMy grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... K763 0 #5 September 15, 2003 I've had Rob on the brain a lot lately myself, and now I know why. I didn't realize it was the anniversary of his last earthly flight, at least not consciously.... I was so fortunate to see Rob so often at the Perris DZ, and when I saw him in Norway last year, the first thing he told me that when he arrived in Norway he realized he'd come home. I'm glad I got to see him there, loving life in the Lysefjord. I found this really cool superimposed picture of Rob...I hope you all enjoy it. Peace, love and joy, (sounds like Rob, doesn't it?)
