Mostly Daytime or Nighttime Jumps For You?

Recommended Posts

hello, I'm just trying to get a little bit of perspective from experienced folks. Are most of your jumps during the daytime or the nighttime? I ask this bc I was under the impression that A's pretty much should always be jumped at night for the risk of burning the site, etc. But I've been hearing more and more lately about people jumping this A or another A during the day as it is "safe to do so". I assume this means its remote or something. But, I digress :) and if you want to understand my intentions for asking this question know that it is simple curiousity what BASE jumpers around the country (and world) are doing. Thanks!

There are Relatively Few Jumps that can be done during the day here in the US. There are some legal sites and some remote sites that are fine to jump in the Day.

I frequently see and hear of people day blazing which puts people who choose to NOT be seen in a bind.

Most of my jumps are at night. All City jumps are around 4 in the morning.

Is that a general rule of thumb or is that when its 'happy hour' at Dunkin Donuts ? ;)

After a cursory perusal of my BASE log book, it's about even.
From ALL types of objects, day and night jumps are close.
Incidentally, the amount of LEGAL jumps logged is now
about even with the 'maybe not so legal' ones.......

In the UK there are a few day time jumps. I have some A's that can be jumped in the day (did you not love it Faber!!!) mainly because although not that remote the locals who live there think it cool what we do and dont give us any grief - one guy has a pic of a jumper going off the A next to his house on his living room wall! How cool is that!

Other than that there are a few "remote" A's that can be done in day light (so I hear!) and some of the E's can be done too (as long as you explain to people what you are doing who may bump into you as you are kitting up!)

Most of my jumps are at night. As I dont live near the "daytime" stuff. Too be honest I dont care - a flick is a flick in day or night............ sometimes I just love the sneaking around!!

yes and better landingarea than most night jumps gives:S:D

I can jump my local any time a day if i want to,but by respect to the people that lives there,i normaly only jump it in the evening.i have some night jumps from it aswell, but i really enjoy to climb as the sun goes down, standing at the exit, getting the gear ready as the sun is orange/red,climbing over the rail, standing at the rail ready to go,have a look at the sun,its quiet.. 3 2 1 C ya off i go, BANG chute is okay, its still light bt abit darker here find a spot to land at.Gear in the car,pop a beer home we go... NICEB|

I do think some jumps need to be done at night to give the perfect veiv(think my B would look ugly in sun but by night it were perfect..
But most jumps could give better video by day and better visual for the jumper. But that would obisiely burn most of the sitesB|>:(
