TomAiello 26 #2 January 30, 2003 I'm not sure what "bump jumping" or "bumpy jumping" is.If you are looking for information on Bungee Jumping (i.e. jumping from an object with a rubber cord attached) try here.Edit: Oops, screwed up the link, didn't I? Thanks Lolie.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

Zennie 0 #5 January 30, 2003 The very first "jumpy" type thing I ever did was a bungy jump from the platform operated by AJ Hackett in Las Vegas. About 175 feet IIRC. It was by far the most terrifying thing I've ever done. I want to do it again now that I've also done skydiving and BASE just to see if it truly is that frighteneing or if it was mainly because I hadn't jumped off of or out of anything before. The only other time I've been literally weak in the knees (I never thought you could actually feel that way) was right before I climbed over the rail on my first antenna jump. - Z "Always be yourself... unless you suck." - Joss Whedon

Zennie 0 #7 January 30, 2003 I was browsing that site a bit. I noticed that they also make excursions to a legal bridge in the Western US that we BASE jumpers frequent. Anybody ever been out there when the bungy jumpers were there as well? If so, were there good vibes between the two groups? - Z "Always be yourself... unless you suck." - Joss Whedon

TomAiello 26 #14 January 30, 2003 I believe Skinflicka has already claimed #1. He seems like the ideal choice to keep the numbers.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
174fps 1 #15 January 30, 2003 I see they also claim to reach Terminal V attached to a 300 ft cord. Off a 700 ft bridge.
Cajones 0 #16 January 30, 2003 Do have to do it at the exit point? Might make things a little slippery. Although, it could be a good excuse on a bust... "I slipped and fell! Go up there and look, there's something slippery near the edge!... Good thing I had this parachute on!" The laws of physics are strictly enforced.
bungeechef 0 #17 January 30, 2003 Greetings ,lots of respect for what you guys do !!! Treejumps 0 #18 January 30, 2003 I did my first cliff bumpy-jumpy. What a rush, but nearly gave me heart failure on the hike. Jumpy-bumpy seems to work better.

I did it years before I started skydiving and thought it was cool but not terrifying. After about 500 skydivies and a couple of BASE jumps I went and did it again. This time it was without a doubt the most terrifying thing I ever did. I think it was because I felt too low to get a canopy out and too high to survive the fall. The guys were cool and let me wear a special waist harness so I could practice exits for BASE.

He went and tried bungee, and had video of it. Just as he reached the length of the (slack) cord, he started frantically reaching behind himself, trying to find a PC. He kept at it until the bungee cord pulled him back.Looks terrifying to me. I'll stick to safe, not so scary, stuff.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
DexterBase 1 #21 February 1, 2003 Tom, when are you gonna try one of my rope jumps? I think if we put our heads together we could get one off that big "S". heh heh...
anj23atl 0 #22 April 18, 2003 Hey Dave, I jumped with Eric last year for my birthday..467 feet and it was awesome. After that we've stayed in touch and all I wanted to do this year for my birthday (august) is heli-bungee (in toronto i believe)..which supposedly he had on his schedule along with a 700ft jump in New Mexico. Unfortunatly I came to find out a few weeks ago from him that he has given the bugee business a rest. So in my pursuit to find a Heli-bungee..I did a search on yahoo and came across this thread. I don't know if you're still planning on doing the heli-bungee this year...but I would absolutely love to do it if it's still planned. I love bungee jumping and am so interested in it. Can you please provide me with any information that you have about any jumps that will be happening anytime soon in the U.S. I am wiling to travel. You can e-mail me at asisodia@ups.com. Thanks so much for all your help. Anjana (Edited to remove site names ~ sangiro )

DexterBase 1 #25 April 18, 2003 Heh heh... sounds good dude. That'll be a way cool one. We still have to get you off that other bridge too. That one is a super easy rigging job. I can have that rig up in about thirty minutes so we could get a bunch of jumps off in one night. I just won't BASE that one just yet. Especially freefall (chill goes down spine) you're nutty dude! Stay safe bro. ---Dex
