Faber 0 #1 January 3, 2003 How do you guys document that you accualy did jump?Im thinking in cases as if you want your #,if you have to proove your worth,in case as if you would jump a place(like Melaysia,Kjerag and so on). I personal have a logbook, whit out telling names/sites.But i also goes solo most of the times.I will bring a mentor when i try a new kind of object (BASE),but my # are on my own(not that i will ceat, while it would only be myself i were ceating). What do you guys do? Stay safe Stefan Faber
TomAiello 26 #2 January 3, 2003 Almost none of the people who would be asking for "proof" would doubt your word. If you applied for an event in Malaysia, for example, or showed up in Norway, the people screening you would probably already have heard of you (because they generally read the internet boards, in your case), or know someone who knew you. But, even if they hadn't or didn't, they would probably accept your word. BASE just isn't a big enough sport to have evolved very far beyond the honor code yet (I hope).-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
Faber 0 #3 January 3, 2003 I did feel that a bit,but then again.A legal place as Kjerag, where there come people who want their first jump,or in my case probaly first cliff jump.Or in the Case of Melaysia, where the recomandaitions are even higher. I sure would love to spend new year by you guys next year in Melaysia, but im pretty sure that i cant make it before the year after(need practice, and i will start soon, doc word Stay safe Stefan Faber
mac266 0 #4 January 3, 2003 I keep a log book - but its a personal record for me to flick through and remember some of the jumps I have made and smile! As you said - making up numbers is cheating yourself - you cant make up the memories which is why I log jumps. I beleive that most if not all jumpers will not lie about their jump numbers. Thats one reason BASE'rs are such cool people!!! Be Safe............... be logging jumps for yourself Michael PS) Happy New year - heres to 2003 and some good and safe jumping...........
