justinblovell 0 #1 March 22, 2015 Hello All, I was wondering if anyone out there has stumbled on an iPhone app that tracks altitude, glide ratio, gps, etc. for a wing suit jump? I've seen a few post on this website, but they all seem a few years old and the apps are not on the app store any more. Anyone know why that is? Hellis 0 #2 March 23, 2015 The GPS in a phone is generally rubbish. Some time ago someone posted a GPS track from his phone and it looked awful, and the "landing" was ~100 ft in the air. My advice is to get a device built for tracking skydivers. Or a external GPS device for your phone, not sure it will work as good as FlySight but it will be better than built in GPS. DSE 5 #5 March 23, 2015 BASELINE works fairly well, but the Flysight is truly the way to go. If you have any intention of competing in an FAI-sanctioned Performance event, you'll need/want a Flysight anyhow. For competition, a Flysight and Paralog are essential, IMO. dthames 0 #6 March 24, 2015 If you are really interested in the data, the Flysight is a great tool. If mine broke, I would have to get another one right away. But I am a bit of a data geek. I like to see exactly what I did and where I flew.Instructor quote, “What's weird is that you're older than my dad!”
